Title / titre: Synchronizable Codes

Abstract / résumé: The field of coding theory is concerned with the accurate transmission of data, and to this end, it primarily deals with errors brought by the substitution of one symbol with another. However, the construction of codes which deal with substitution errors leaves no provision for correcting errors of another sort: synchronization errors. To deal with errors of this sort, we look at several algorithms which use a similar approach to those that handle substitution errors, to deal with the synchronization problem.

Prerequisites / choses nécessaires: Some basic coding theory is assumed.
