Title / titre: A Crash Course in Differential Forms

Abstract / résumé: In this talk I will give a brief introduction to differential forms on finite-dimensional real inner product spaces. We will begin by covering the necessary multilinear algebra, developing in particular the graded algebra of alternating tensors, and then proceed to define differential forms and certain operations on them and develop their properties, thereby constructing the so-called de Rham complex. The talk will end by touching on some basic applications, focusing particularly on vector calculus.

Prerequisites / choses nécessaires: Knowledge of advanced linear algebra and of multivariable calculus will be assumed.
